General Information

Clarence Valley Council (CVC) was created in February 2004 and provides sewer and water services to the Clarence Valley as well as bulk water supply to the Coffs Harbour area.

Council is implementing the Regional Water Supply Strategy, which has the objectives of protecting natural river systems through improved environmental flows and long term security for the Clarence Valley/Coffs Harbour region. In addition to the provision of major water supply infrastructure which is due for completion in 2009, the main focus is on achieving the vision of reducing the dependency on the natural river resources by becoming a more water wise community.

Key elements of this journey include the introduction of alternate water sources into the water cycle and fostering a cultural change aimed at raising awareness about the value of water and the important role it plays in our daily lives.

Council is currently undertaking major sewerage augmentations in Grafton, Maclean and Yamba, as well as providing sewerage to Iluka. The augmented schemes will meet stringent environmental standards while maximising reuse of recycled water.

Council is committed to a sustainable Clarence Valley and this web site is designed to highlight the water cycle section’s contribution in delivering outcomes that secure the sewer and water needs of current and future generations.
