Clarence Valley Council has introduced permanent water conservation measures as of 1 September 2007. Under the policy, the use of sprinklers and fixed hoses are banned permanently between 9.00am and 4.00pm every day. Hand held hoses can continue to be used as they are not restricted under this section of the recently adopted water restrictions policy. The restriction forms part of a uniform policy that applies across the entire Clarence Valley Council area. The introduction of other levels of temporary water restrictions will depend on weather patterns, river flows and reservoir levels in some cases.
